Server Specification
The server is a 64bit Centos 5.5 ESXi managed server. It is based on a Intel Xeon CPU E5520 with 8Gb RAM. It is located in a secure location with Redstation at Gosport, Hampshire.
We backup all mysql databases to Text SQL dump files at 6am every day, we store 7 days, 1 weekly and 1 monthly as text files.
We then also backup all files (including the Text SQL dump files) using AES-256 encryption – a government and industry standard that’s one of the most well-studied and most secure encryption algorithms available - and then upload to a Rackspace Cloud Storage through use of the Jungledisk application provided and supported by Rackspace. This backup is taken nightly.
