Litchfield Morris are putting the finishing touches to a new content managed website for the Forest of Dean District Council.![]() In order to promote local business and stores, the Forest of Dean council implemented a marketing campaign with the tag line First Stop, Local Shop. A number of schemes aimed at local residents to persuade them to shop in their local community rather than travel further afield include a rewards card, local retail awards and environmental shopping bags. The campaign has been backed up by a website of stores, providing an overview of local services available. The website is visually unappealing and has unfortunately fallen behind the current stores in the scheme as updates are not easily created or edited. To enhance a new Forest of Dean Council website, Litchfield Morris has been retained to develop and create a more visually appealing, easier to use, and just as importantly, easy to update website. This has been achieved with the latest Joomla content management system and an integrated shopping database. The stores are now categorised and cross linked, containing contact details, photographs and a description. Also added using custom fields was the option to select the various promotional schemes running, including the popular Forest Rewards Card scheme. An custom scripted search function enables the user to discover many hidden treasures that they may not have known were just around the corner. Once all testing and client approval has been received we will post a link.
